Pediatric health care for ages 0 - 18 years old. Turner House serves an ethnically and racially diverse population with
culturally competent, bilingual care. Nearly 90% of patient families
are Spanish speaking. More than 88% live at or below the federal
poverty level, earning less than $20,000 a year.
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
Tuesday and Thursday, 5 PM to 8 PM
Saturday, 8 AM to 12 Noon

Case management. Every effort is made by Turner House support staff to ensure that families are referred to appropriate services for their needs. Through the Healthy Steps for Young Children program, families of children 0-3 are referred to other agencies such as the Infant & Toddler program for developmental concerns, Parents As Teachers, Project Eagle (family support), Healthy Start (social services) Dame la mano (nutrition classes), El Centro (medicine, food, legal), and others.
Patient and community education.
Eligibility assistance. Families of uninsured patients are referred to the Medicaid enrollment specialist stationed three days a week at Turner House to determine eligibility and complete applications.
Interpretation. Turner House ensures that all Spanish-speaking families have access to bilingual staff. An interpreter is available for physicians who do not speak Spanish. Front desk staff and medical assistants are all bilingual in English and Spanish. A language line is available for families who speak languages other than English or Spanish.
